Pulchérie (Corneille)

Pulchérie deals with the palace politics of fifth century Byzantium as if it were contemporary Downing Street. Corneille called it a ‘heroic comedy’ and his witty play does what it says. The attractively written introduction will make you want to get involved with the vicissitudes of the ‘six characters in search of love’.
